I sold these in large numbers during the period 1980 to 1983, as well as their smaller sibling, the KT3 series. They were very reliable, the main faults on the K30 being failure of the 4R7 surge limiter on the mains inut panel – I reckon the manufacturers must have used a duff batch as they were guaranteed to fail in every series II K30, KT3, as well as the CTX-E chassis; the 4.7mfd electrolytic C1583 was often the cause of low brightness. In common with many other non remote sets, the Pye 1060 often used to suffer from dodgy channel selectors.
