Another repair at the far side of Wakefield was well into Mining territory. The customers house was particularly dingy and she offered to put the light on but it made little if any difference, turning the set nearer the window didn’t either but it did look like there was some dust on the bottom PCB.

I gave it  a measured blow but was rewarded with a cloud of back dust. When it settled, the customer started to laugh as I looked over the top of the set and offered me a chance for a wash in the downstairs loo. When I took me spec’s off, Al (bleedin) Jolson was staring back at me in the mirror!
