I wonder if it’s possible to have it rewound, there are a couple of forum members on UKVRRR that do rewinds of transformers, not sure if anyone on this forum.
They may only do mains transformers and audio transformer.
Any way your persistence as paid off in that you know exactly what is wrong.
Frank
Mike Barker (murphymad) is a member here and is renowned for his transformer rewinds, he's done many pre-war an post war lopts. I believe he can do this LOPT, as I spoke to him about mine a few years ago. Why not private message him.

That is sheer elegance....beautiful work indeed.

Only the good dog (below) is allowed into the RBM workshop, the other "little miss naughty" is not as she steals things.

It was pliers and an EHT cap she got last time. ?
I bet she still got her dinner though.
Frank
Oh yes, she had her dinner lol.
I am sending both LOPT's off to murphymad (Thanks Mike) who has kindly agreed to re-wind the faulty overwind. The good one is to provide Mike with a reference to check with afterwards. Both set's will be out of action for a while, but that is hardly a concern as there is no anxious owner waiting for the next enthralling episode of Coronation Street......well, they were 40 years ago! ?

Now Andrew, remind us - wasn't it balancing a telly on that stool that led to the V310 having a little, errrrr, accident?
No, it was on the edge of the bench and I got entangled with leads.....the rest is too painful to recall.
But they are not on any stools now ! ?

Just a bit of viewing today....lets see what's on....

Have you got the LOPTX’s back from Mike, that was quick?
Frank
Hi Andrew,
I have to say that this is now a fantastic looking set with a cracking picture.
You must be very pleased with it after all your hard work. Top job!

Thanks Jon, it is now a bit better than when I first received it I must admit ?
Frank, I haven't sent them yet to Mike, will do it this week. I just need to remove them from the set's.

I'm a bit scared, I have to admit, of sending both LOPT'S together. Needless to say, they'll be well wrapped and protected. It will be recorded delivery obviously, but what if they got lost in the post?
Oh shut up you silly fool...they'll be fine ! ?

Looks great, Andrew; well worth the effort with the Plastic Coating.
Regarding the transformers; wrap them well, box them up and then go through Interparcel and book them for carriage with UPS. You can drop them off at the UPS Drop-Off Point in the off-licence in Wenny Road. Select drop-off by yourself, but delivery to Mike's door.
Dead easy, cheap and hassle-free.
Thanks for the advice ?

I have the LOPT's home and have installed them back into the sets. My original is working fine, but the re-wound one is showing an interesting problem. (I have contacted Mike about the issue, but just for interest, you might like to see the on-screen effect.) Also, when switched to 625, the picture ballons out and the EHT drops. The DY86 heater goes out too. The line stage does not seem to be under any strain and HT is normal though. I have tried the re-wound LOPT in both sets and it is the same. The strange oscillation on 405 clears after a few moments, but there is still a slight ringing effect.
First two pic's are 405, the second is what happens on 625....

On 405 it looks like a parasitic oscillation, the sine wave like look of the verticals will be the flywheel sync trying to smooth out the verticals.
There are some components mounted on the transformer, are those kept on the faulty TX, just wonder if those are the problem.
