Hello again. Well after having my usual moan about various things i decided last night to try putting some power through the set. and after a little while the heaters lit up and a distinctive whine came from the lopt to reveal the PY81 was useless B| . so in went another valve and again after a while it came up but i could see nowt on the screen. so after a bit more tinkering i twiddle the brightness control and i get a nice inch high strip across the screen, thats right frame collapse. so for a set i thought would be more trouble than it was worth has turned out to be a good prospect. cheers neil.

Resize in Gimp (free, Windows and Linux) or the Graphics Workshop (Shareware).

Make sure you save as .jpg at "suitable" compression (too much and all goes jaggy and outlined)
