Panasonic TC-682GR?
Hi, Following my radio interview someone has got in touch with a Panasonic TC-682GR TV, He says it's colour and bought in the 80s.. and that a friend had it before him in the 1970s
Looking under R&TS Panasonic is listed as National. I have found similar model numbers but not 682GR.. Can anyone find me any info on it?
Just found Panasonic only used the brand National up to 1980.. So the set is definatley 70s
I remember it being National Panasonic in the 70's hence the term 'Nat Pan TV'. I've also seen 'National' so maybe there was a transition period.
Rich
Well from what I've gleaned Panasonic started making TV's in the states in 1961 as Panasonic but in Europe as National. In Europe National was used up until 1979, from that point onward they the dropped National and just used Panasonic. So if your set has a Panasonic badge logic would dictate its post 1979, if it has a National badge its pre 1979.

Hi Rob, Sorry I don't know.. I have no pictures.. I've been told it's a fairly large portable TV. Malc has said it sounds like one of the early portables which are "The size of a microwave"! I will snap it up anyway and should hopefully go and get it later on today.
Thanks everyone for the research too!
Fairly typical National Panasonic sqaure 80s tv Says, 'Quintrix'.. Digital (ish) controls and a remote control! But it was free, it works fine and i'm sure I can find some use for it..
Uses PIX-M11 chassis?
Matsushita 420FKB22 CRT
I dimly remember these sets, we had a few on 24hr cctv work, and they lasted years, never went wrong. I think around 1981.The little speaker on the front, if I remember, is a tweeter, and theres another full range speaker on the side ( if its the same set)
Hi Ian, Thats right yep!
