For many years now, the BBC has run a site called Genome, which covers all the Radio Times listings from the period of its ownership of the magazine.

What is probably less known is that the BBC is now in the process of digitising its archive and linking programmes to the listings in Genome. One such programme, which may be of interest to those of us with older television sets is First Year Flashbacks. This was transmitted on 31st December 1946 and covers items of interest from the resumption of the Television Service that year. I came across it whilst looking at the BBC website where a clip of the first post-war Remembrance Service was shown.
