PYE v510
Hi guys , just come across this set I bought it thinking it was a v210 but on getting a closer look I discovered it was a V510 using the earlier chassis .
Having changed my collecting to consentrate on collecting PYE sets this came as a pleasant surprise it will compliment my other PYE sets .
I'm I right in thinking this maybe a rarer set than the V210?
To be honest I've never seen one before
Chris
That's a new one on me Chris, but it looks fab.
Back in the late 1980s I found a Pye set at the junk market in Nottingham. It was a 21" table model, not unlike a big version of your set, similar vintage I guess, but it had motor tuning (sequential) and the cabinet was a green rexine type of finish rather than woodgrain. Quite unusual and I've always wondered which model it was. I never had it working unfortunately.
Good luck with your nice little 510.
Steve
Very very nice! Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.
Cheers
Brian
It uses the same chassis as my 1959 Pam 600F, as you say the V210 uses a different chassis.
My V210 needs to go back on the bench due to an IF problem
The one I remember with some fondness is the V530, with the FM tuner at the side.
One for you Steve is the 21inch green set model V430/A
Wow! I never thought I'd see one of those again! I was beginning to think I had imagined it!! What an amazing selection you have there and what an excellent idea to concentrate on one manufacturer you like.
Steve
One day I'll get to catalog my collection, up to now my PYE collection starts at the B16T the 9 inch mains derived EHT set trough to the first single standard 625 I think it's the 169 chassis as to date no colour sets ,yet !
I do have some other makes like PAM & GEC oh & a couple of SOBELL sets etc
Chris
