I think the 3500 used an 80 ohm speaker Michael. The 3500 I rebuilt from an empty cabinet I am sure uses one. I had to use the speaker that came in a varicap spares set and whilst it is electrically suitable it is too wide to fit in the cabinet of the mechanical tuner set I rebuilt. Would you consider selling one if it would fit? If so I'll get the set out and check the size of the space. It is the set I asked for help on here.

Edit; Blimey ! Was that a year ago? Time flies!Â

Of course I will sell one, I have a full box of about 40, I can get you the thorn part number off the box on Monday if that's OK.Â

Many thanks Michael. I will have a look in the 3500 service manual I have to see if it gives the part number of the speaker for my set. Otherwise I will measure the size of the mounting in the cabinet. The speaker I have is too wide.
Thanks again.Â
Rich

Part number 00E3 005 B01.
80 ohm 1 watt

Thanks Michael. I will have a look in the service manual to check the part number and get back to you. I think it is smaller than the one I have so I am hopeful it will fit.
Rich.

In a word yes.Â

Is it for 20inch or 22/26 inch?

It's a 22 inch, there is a part number on the old LOPT. but I'm at home at the moment.Â

I have a couple of nos ones with p/n 81237 on the box. The Mk3 manual states p/n 81229 for 22/26 inch and 81233 for 20 inch. Can you check your parts list for any updated numbers?Â

Hi MichaelÂ
I can't find the part number of the speaker. Can you measure the distance between fixing holes? The speaker I need is 4 cm wide by 12.5 cm long. measurements taken from centre of each fixing hole. (I have a 3 Ohm speaker that fits but won't do electrically). It is the width of the speaker that is critical the speaker from the donor Baird set is too wide and won't fit between the side of the cabinet and the tuner.
Many thanks Rich.Â

Width 3 inches, length 5.5 inches and distance between fixing holes is 40 mm.Â

@malcscott don't think my post went, my revised parts list says 81229 for the 22 inch and 81233 for the 20 inch, there is a part number on the old LOPT, it says ITT. TFAT 1109-741-57 and the aftermarket HR part is HR1174.

Hi Michael, i have good used 22/26 loptx p/n - TFAT-1109-740-57. Also Plessey Mk3 loptx with no p/n. PM me your address and i will send them off to you. I will include a nos tripler as well in case it was the cause of the loptx failure.

@malcscott Hi. That would be great, let me know how much and I will pay.
My adresse is.Â
Digifix Ltd. Unit 32, Harpur Hill Business Park, Buxton, Derbyshire. SK17-9JL.

I will get them boxed up and send them off to you tomorrow. Just cover postage, Malc.

@malcscott Hi, very many thanks for that, arrived this morning, please let me have your adresse so I can send you some money, might be a while before I can get back to this set but when I do I will make a part two on my YouTube channel. Michael.

Hi Michael.
Sorry I thought I had sent you a PM about the speaker, it looks like I did it wrong because there is no sign of it! Anyway I would like to buy a speaker, please can you PM me with the price and how you would like payment. (paypal or direct bank transfer) and I will reply with my address and make the payment.
Many thanks! Rich.
