Sparked off by the Thorn thread here, who out there in Vratland has the earliest Ferguson Television in their collection. Come on lets see your fine fergy's.
Hi Chris, some nice pic's of a Ferguson 941T from the late 40's. Sadly, I sold this set a while back....wish I hadn't.
I also have a 941 in the pile. It's not quite in such nice condition as Andrew's set.
Well then unless someone has an 841T, 842T or 843T, I think Jon will be the vratter with the earliest Ferguson, with his 941.
According to my research Ferguson (Thorn) first produced a TV in 1946 had their first showing at the 1947 Radiolympia and went into production in 1948.
Although two sets are stated for 1939 the TC918 and TC1218, were they actually ever built?
No record or photographic evidence seems to exist anywhere except mention on the valve page and the ETF. Perhaps they were planned but not built due to the outbreak of the war. When they started up again they went with the 841T of 1948? Will we ever truly know....
