I wanted to show the link to my younger friends (who are interested in how "social media" was 30+ years ago, some are in France where Minitel remained in operation well into the 21st century, others remember BTX in Germany) - but there seems to be something missing (maybe the rest of the training info?) and an unusual error message in a box

"Setting up fake worker failed: "Cannot load script at: https://www.radios-tv.co.uk/wp-content/cache/wpo-minify/1637051718/assets/wpo-minify-footer-d79b9755.worker.min.j s""

I tried both Chrome and Firefox and get the same message....

Thanks - all working now (interesting local connection with one of the Prestel computers being based at Martlesham)

(BTW I wanted to give it 5 stars rather than 3 but the page glitched halfway through on the voting part)

I went on a days training at the ITT factory in Farnworth near Bolton, must be around 1980. The factory was by then just training, workshop and stores.

We sold a couple of ITT Prestel sets, small screen 14 inch perhaps. Not a lot of call in a domestic environment though.

Much quicker than Teletext to refresh the pages, that’s about as much as I remember.

I was talking to someone many years ago that saw the servers for a Prestel computer suite, the storage was quite a few 80MB CDC SMD disc drive, they are washing machine in size.
