CRT Wanted

I thought I would kindly ask if anyone happens to have a spare Mullard MW43-69, or MW43-80 or Mazda CRM171/2  or 17 inch equivalent that they might be willing to part with? Or a complete set containing any of the above tubes that can be used as a donor.

Many thanks,

Andrew.

Hi Andrew.

I can help out either way with a set or a tube. Either way the tubes concerned are spot on. Can't remember though if they are Mazda or Mullard.

Hi Andrew.

Thank you for the message. I'll need to remove them from the loft firstly and make sure they are OK. One is in a Murphy V310 which is incomplete and the other in a box. Both were excellent 7 months ago. I'll get back to you this week sometime.

Take care.

Hi Andrew.

Two CRM172's both read good one is just about FSD on the B&K the other midway. Perhaps better take both. Say £30. Collection best TBH. Further details by PM.

Kind Regards.

Trevor's QTH is just over six hours from Peterborough by train, Andrew ?

Yes, just imagine me trying to carry two CRT's onto a train and all the fun changing at the stations too. ?

Obviously, they would be wrapped and boxed, but I'm hoping to be able to use Shiply as this would be far more practical.

A former member of this parish moved a 26" Decca by train on a sack truck IIRC, so two CRTs shouldn't be an issue for you ?

Shiply will be the best bet. I don't envy Trevor having to pack one of the tubes though!

I arrived at Waterloo station by train one night about 35 years ago. On the train on the other side of the island platform, two railmen were hurling Mullard tubes out of a Parcel Van onto the platform with gay abandon!

Didn't hear any go bang, though!

That's because they'd gone 'bang' when they were loaded... 😉

How the hell did they manage that?  ?

Hi Andrew, just a shame this wasn't back in the summer as I was in Scotland every other weekend due staff shortages.

We could have met up at Peterborough when I collected a set from Slidertogrid over on the other channel.

No problem to box them up for you. There is also a possibility that we may be heading to Swindon before the summer but as yet no firm plans have been made.

Kind regards.

Hi Trevor, there is no hurry whatsoever, if you are coming south sometime this year, I can meet you.

If you are happy to box them, I can pay for any additional packaging and costs. If you need them out the way sooner, then if you let me know the rough dimensions and weight, I could arrange a courier via Shiply to collect.
