At last I've got around to the construction of a special cabinet stand for the RCA 21CT872 CTC7 color TV set.  It's going have to be a very strong affair because the set is heavy, I guess 90 pounds or so. The cabinet will contain the 110 volt transformer and a loudspeaker. Fit castors to make it easy to move the set about.

Is the 110 volt transformer shielded, thinking about interference to the CRT?

Hi Frank, it'll have to be a shielded transformer mounted on the cabinet floor.  A toroid perhaps?
Link to the Early Television website and the late Ed Reitan's CTC7 gallery: http://earlytelevision.org/Reitan/ctc7_gallery.html

Could create a stand to resemble the CTC7 Anderson model.

Stubby legs with castors similar to those on the 405 line Pye CTV.

The front and rear panels were made last night.  Now the cabinet has all the rigidity to support the heavy set. To keep the weight of the cabinet down the plywood is only 10mm thick. Sides are 20mm MDF.
