Well I finally got the 25 inch DER Tv that I have owned since 1970 from my sisters garage. It had previously been at my Dads under the stairs for 30 years. The set went off when I was working overseas in 1982. My Dad went and bought a new set.
I bought the set in late September 1970 for £321. £141 down and the further £180 at £18/month for 10 months interest free!
The small hole in the top RHS back is where a switch I fitted to the alter the timebase so my N1500 videorecorder would work without the shakes in 1974!

Hi Dave,

Looks nice, can't wait to get my paws on that I love 3000 chassis based sets. All I need now is an N1500 to go with it.

I still have the Philips N1500 in the loft plus 2X 1700 machine and around 60 tapes, but they are not on offer.
A funny thing is that I have a Christmas BBC1 tape from 1974. A Modern TV tries to decode the teletext the top line usually appears with the date and time but the rest of the screen is garbage.
If you check programme guides for Christmas Day 1974 they say at 3:10pm after the queens speech its Billy Smarts Circus.
BBC1 had a strike a few days earlier and they showed as per my tape the movie "Oliver".

I have all the replacement boards. In the 1970s I built up quite a supply. When I did the 19inch Feguson a couple of years ago I also fixed some spare boards as replacements with the idea of sorting the DER out. I could just plug them in and get it going. But would that be cheating?
Trouble is I have no where to put it so I am leaving it for Chris. Its completely dead just the neon lights on switch on. I've not even tried the red cut out!

I have a rare Rediffusion version of this set (RT514/25). It is dated 1969 and has the dual line output stage. It still works fine, Malc.
