Hi, does any one know if there is a vcr mod for these sets (original TCE 9000 series)?
I've looked through all my old issues of Television and can't find anything. Then again there are a few gaps in my collection.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I hope you have better luck than i had with my Bush.
Even with the mod for that set VCR use was impossible.
The only solution in my case was to use the VCR as a modulator for a DVD player which worked very well.
Ended up buying DR Who on DVD!

Well it looks like my field timbase board has the option to fit the missing compenents.

Although this isn't the 3722 model. In fact I have no idea what model number this set is.

The only number I can find is 8778 accross the top chassis member.

That cabinet is identical to the one used on my Multibroadcast 773, (standard rental cabinet?) the only visual difference being the control panel.

The model number 8778 on the chassis contains the clues. Starting with "8", this suggests its a Radio Rentals set. see https://www.radios-tv.co.uk/?q=node/220

Unfortunately the model to chassis list I've compiled is lacking in rental firm data such as D|E|R, Multibroadcats and Radio Rentals. https://www.radios-tv.co.uk/?q=node/231

Thanks for the help Chris & Graham.

The thread title is a bit misleading because it is the 8778 that I set about
modifying (It was on top and easier to access).

I fitted the 3 components (R434, R435 & C7443) as Graham suggested.
There was provision for VT414 but as the base connection lead nowhere I
didn't fit it, thereby leaving all six channels "AV enabled"

It has cured the twitching on VHS playback. I will look at making the
switching mod. Thanks go to Graham for going to the trouble of finding
out about the remote control system.

As an aside the picture in my earlier post shows the 7887 with its original touch tune
assembly, this has since been replaced with the light action push button
type. The touch tune unit was rubbish - I'm guessing this was a
modification back in the day.

Thanks to Graham for the info I did the AV switching mods on my 9000.
The additional components were fitted to the print side of the tuner PCB

I managed to route a wire into the loom going to the right hand timebase panel.

Thanks again Graham
