This weeks find is a little Alba colour clock Radio and TV. I would guess this dates from about the mid eighties, when I imagine it would have cost considerably more than the tenner I paid ! I had thought the tube was shot, but just the base had worked loose, after this it seems to work reasonably well, FM and AM radio OK, clock works etc. UHF tuning and frame hold are quite critical but it is possible to get a usable picture, so I will probably press this into service somewhere around the house.

The model is an Alba PTV10 and the CRT a Matsushita 160DB22, I can't find any circuit information about it on the internet, I guess it is a badge engineered job, does anyone know if there were equivalent models.

A nice little set, just perfect for TV-am.

But was TV-am perfect for anything?  Hmm...

There were quite a few similar ones but whether they were the same I don’t know.

In the back of the photo there is a small box with red and black leads and a valve, is it test equipment?
