Congratulations! A great result!

I guess my feelings towards the K12 were predicated on that fact that hundreds of them came through our hands. Lovely pics, for sure, definitely the best you'll see on a 20AX (it still has the bow in the middle top and bottom that you'll never eliminate).

Just a stupidly complex design and expensive to make, that is my main objection. They didn't last long in Oz, either in production or in service.

By way of contrast, my late Mum had a Pye T30C that I got for her in 1976. It was still in daily service (with a digital set-top box attached) when she passed away in 2012. Still showing great pictures, CRT still good. And it had a third the number of components in it, compared to the K12.

The K12 was missing its remote control, I don't have any brochures covering this TV, so I searched online for some period adverts. I found one, see below.

Armed with that, I searched my usual chap for the supply of vintage remotes, bingo, the exact one! It arrived a few mins ago. There was a label on the back stating operated KT3/12/30 - RC4001. The set is once again complete, err not quite, I need to find a stand. Then it can join the growing PYE section of the upper museum.

The addition of this TV takes my continentals to 10, one quarter of the collection.

That's the early non-text remote that uses the RC4 code then. Later KT3,K30,KT4,K40 with teletext used RC5.
