I personally don’t see any problems in using the 330pF that was originally fitted especially as it’s series resistor will now be 100k. The only capacitor that really needs to be 12kV is the tuning cap C1 originally C308 in the CVC5. At a push an 8kV should be OK but it’s close to it’s limit.
John.
Posted by: @jayceebeeespecially as it’s series resistor will now be 100k.
That's another problem, I've literally thousands of resistors in stock as you know, all manner of type and wattage, you would think I had a 100K 5W, blowed if I could find a cement one.
What I did have is a number of Climatic 'Painton' 100K 5% Type 302, with a serial number of Z244159. I believe these are ex MOD, and I'm pretty sure they are 5W of a little higher, but typically it's not printed on the body. I've some different values that are a tiny bit smaller, and they are 4.5W, so I'm going to use one of these and hope it's adequate.
I've reversed all the mods we did for the PYE, all that remains now is to wire the LOPT into cct.

All wired in bar two wires.

John, if you get the chance of a free moment, can you check your messages. I text'd your phone and FB messaged you this afternoon with a query. Guess you were otherwise engaged, no worries if you've things on, we can catch up next week.

ITT tripler is now wired in and ready to go.

An oversight, the tripler input cable had to traverse over to the other side of the LOPT, and then down to the lowest point to where it needed to attach to the LOPT. As with everything on this G6, nothing is simple. The lead needed to be extended. I made a very short neat and round joint, encased it in hot melt and then heat shrinked it. Finally, taking a tip out of Thorn's book, borrowed a 3000 EHT foam insulator as it was also too close to the LOPT primary.
That's it!
No power up tonight though, I need to pause and get in the right frame of mind. In my present state, I'm borderline going to Basil Fawlty bash the living daylights out of it. Today has been a catalogue of it throwing obstacles in the way, trying to make life as difficult as possible getting the ITT LOPT in place. The final one being the tripler input barely reaching, needing extending and shrouding.
This TV does hate me.
As John reminded me this evening, tomorrow there are storms forecast, I shall don my Dr FrankenWomble white lab coat and see if the beast will live.

I'm pleased you've rectified that, having the AC feed to the tripler touching the bobbin was just asking for trouble.
You probably don't want to hear this but the way CTC15 has wired the pulse windings it's not balanced, the earth point is not in the middle. He's done this I believe to optimize the 190v supply to the cutoff pot and the feedback to the clamps and decoder. Due to this the results when you switch on will probably be no different to the PYE ie weak or no line sync. You will need to experiment with R4070 as the -ve pulse will be some 45v down.
Apologies for not seeing your earlier texts as I was having fun in my workshop with an ICC5 and not noticed my phone had gone flat. More on that later, it's a belter.
John.
Just one thing that occurred to me overnight. There’s not a lot of clearance between the tripler connection and the floor of the EHT cage by the look of it. Keep an eye on it.
John.
I take it from that you hadn't spotted I had already taken that into consideration and fitted an insulation plate. 😎

No I don’t think that’s the LOPT. Try putting the G6 pin 10 lead on the same pin that G6 pin 11 is attached to. You have EHT which is good, just the line scan path to sort.
John.
Another nasty, prior to installing this LOPT, when the TV was tuned off, the EHT would bleed away very quickly to zero. The TV has been off for over 30-mins and the EHT has still not died away. Nasty bite awaiting somewhere there.

That’s not a problem just something you have to be aware of when handling CRTs. 24kV is a bit high with no line scan. Expect higher when the scan path is sorted. Maybe lower it now with the stabilisation pot.
John.
I have lock...I have lock..... Woooo Hoooo!
Only took seven months and loads of transplantations. OK it's not full height but Oh MY, the taste of success.
Lack of height, that's the pot maxed out to get what you see.

That really is amazing, Chris.
You can feel justifiably proud of that 🙂
Excellent result Chris, well done . You're nearly there , all the years I worked on itt cvc's and never realised they had Philips lopts. I'll be firing mine G6 up at teatime to watch a couple of laurel & Hardy films in tptv . 👍
Brilliant stuff! 👍 thanks to both yours and JC perseverance, nice one 😎
