OK, I thought thyristors (apart from the crowbar in the Thorn 3000) were rarely used. But I did leave the repair trade in around 73-74 to go and work for a manufacturer where I was rather blinkered.

I've now been put right 😉

Thyristors in the late 60’s early 70’s CTV’s we’re used in some PSU’s, RBM A823 and Philips G8 come to mind.
