Title says it all. We had a wonderful opportunity to show Tim Muffett of BBC Breakfast a little snippet of what MEET has in store, and to discuss our current predicament with my health failing just as we are trying to get the show on the road. TX will be some time between 06.00 and 09.15 (we think) next Tuesday May 2nd. Stay tuned!r

BBC Breakfast have just been in touch to apologise that because some live programme segments inc. Keir Starmer's overran, they had to postpone some pre-recorded ones inc. mine. Will let you know when it gets re-scheduled.

Just watched it Lucien and you made your point very well. I really do hope somebody watching will come forward and be prepared to take on and be able to continue what you've put so much time and work into.

I have just watched it I really hope someone can step in. Has anyone contacted the lottery fund? I'm not sure if they could help other than financially but surely must be worth a try? Could the BVWS help at all? They do a marvellous job with the Museum in Dulwich. It would be a shame to see such a marvellous collection dismantled.

Just watched it too, very good interview 🙂 and a fantastic collection! there must be someone out there that can help?! I wish I could, but I’m relatively useless at anything that requires organisation…

Regards,

Lloyd

Thanks for the kind words. One of the problems with getting an existing organisation to take it on is that very few have anything like the same scope. For example, the BVWS is mentioned but what would they do with 50 tonnes of diesel generators or 44 electronic organs? An organ museum is in fact involved in the 'Plan B' but what would they do with the radios?

To raise money via the HLF, one needs a project. If we were a fully operational setup and we wanted to develop our representation of the history of wire manufacturing, then we could formulate a project to create a new section of displays about wire. We would write 100 pages of business plan on the subject, have them costed and rubber-stamped by impartial experts, and submit an application. But as for simply raising cash to save our bacon in an adverse situation, that is much harder to write a convincing plan for, and unlikely to attract funding.

We continue looking...
