Battery adaptor PP6 size
Does anyone know if a 9 volt PP6 size adaptor exists that takes AA or AAA batteries (or any other batteries). I have an HMV2161 radio arriving soon that takes a PP6. The seller said it's fitted with a PP3 which will obviously work OK but I'd like to find a better solution. I haven't seen a PP6 for many years so I can't even find a dead one to re-stuff.
There are lots of adaptors available but the PP6 size types I've seen are only 6 volt.
I've seen some on eBay at nearly £30 and Google gives the same reference. There is no way I'm paying £30 for a battery! If I could get hold of an old PP6 I could restuff it with a couple of PP3's in parallel.
Have you tried these people? https://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_pp6.htm Currently, out of stock, but they state they expect to restock every couple of weeks. It might be work completing the query form and see what response you get back. At £9.45 that's £20 cheaper than the ones on eBay, and £10 cheaper than the ones on Farnell for £19.86
@crustytv I seem to recall these were the correct batteries for the Brandenburg 88M but eventually we ended up just using PP3s for the amount of use they got. For some reason I can now see the blue, white and yellow "Vidor" ones in the polished wooden cabinet by the entrance door to the village shop in my mind, and Mum buying me one 😊

Hi Chris, yes I did see that and sent an enquiry form. At least if I get one of those, I can restuff it when necessary! Actually they are only about a mile or so from where I work.....
