With the recent debacle involving Google which I might add is now well and truly resolved, resulting in our standing being greatly improved. It all centered around their precept my site would be moved onto "Mobile First" indexing, no choice for me in the matter, it just happened no opt in, no opt out. Some might argue why are you complaining, it all worked out fine in the end and if not better than before. That may be so but It did cause me grief with Radios-TV Vrat all but disappearing from all web searches if you used Google. It left me wondering a couple of things.

  1. From my analytics (see below) It can clearly be seen from a snapshot of the past 30 days, almost half my traffic at 45.9% is still PC based. Just over a quarter at 27.7% is Android, with the rest making up 14-15% of traffic. Though it does show since being re indexed, Android usage is up a whopping 41%, along with others on the climb. However, from that I fail to see why I was selected to be moved onto the "Mobile First" indexing at this stage.

     2. Please see top for poll options and cast your vote, I'm just interested what members of Vrat use.

Example: I predominantly use a Windows PC, so I answered PC. However, I do occasionally use a smartphone when out and do system testing on various devices/OS's but not enough of a split (90/10), to warrant a vote for the last category. If you check the site while at work via your phone, then a PC or tablet during the evenings and weekends, I guess that might constitute a 50-50 split putting you in the last category. Hopefully that helps you to place your usage, should you decide to vote.

p.s.

Personally I find using any site via a phone tiresome and never as much a pleasure as having the nice full 1920x1080 experience. Despite having designed this site to be mobile friendly, its just not the same.

It’s mainly iPad for me, very very occasionally the MacBook. I do use the phone to check in, usually on the bus going into town but trying to type while on the bus is something I find too difficult, keep hitting the wrong keys.

When I am on duty at the hospice and it’s quiet I use the iPad.

If I had to do a lot of productive work I would probably use the computer but most is consuming not creating although there are some documents I produce on the tablet, letters and minutes etc.

Mostly W10 on my laptop, but occasionally Ubuntu 18 LTS on the same machine. Firefox in both cases.

Otherwise it's Android 9 via Opera.

Mainly use a Linux Mint i7 PC with Firefox. My Win7 netbook is being retired from online duties since M$ have discontinued support.

Any trust in M$ has vanished when free W10 upgrade automatically installed without consent which then completely stuffed the computer. They later admitted to that one!

No smartphone.

Your problem with Google is fairly common occurrence since they introduced their 'algorithm'. It appears content creators particularly are being hit hard by it.

At home and if I’m not expecting to be called out it will be on a laptop running Win7. On the road during meal breaks or downtime it will be either Android or iPad.

Me... Windows 10 based laptop. I used occasionally to use my Android phone (via Wi-Fi) until it became so out of date that it struggled to access anything at all. Plus, I am decidedly not a fan of google/Android anyway.
