Youtube Video The Secret Life Of The Television (Featuring Gerry Wells).
The much vaunted television series "The Secret Life Of Machines " Made for Channel 4 by Tim Hunkin and Rex Garrod is now available on YouTube via Tim Hunkin's own channel.
Here's The Secret Life Of The Television.
In another episode, Tim and Rex also delve into video recorders - If I can find that too, I'll post a link here.
Secret Life Of The Video Recorder, though not via Tim Hunkin's own channel.

I remember very well watching this series.... The shows were excellent!
The theme tune always stuck in my head and I found the series by searching for the tune.
I thought the theme tune was "Take Five" (as you would, if you heard Dave Brubeck). It's actually called "The Russians Are Coming" by Val Bennett. Took me yonks to find it!
It was nice to see the extra bit at the end, with the added insights.
Good find 🙂
Standards are like toothbrushes. Everybody needs them, but nobody want to use yours!

I really liked the Secret Life series.
Only occasionally I caught them on TV, but I remember seeing the car one at TV, & one of my friends had almost all of them on video.
A few years ago it was possible to download them from a semi-official site but the picture quality wasn't very good.

I think Val Bennett could justifiably be sued for plagiarism - that is the SAME TUNE!!
Don't know if you remember the Men At Work hit "Land Down under"?
MAW were sued for copying the flute solo in that from the children's song "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree" - cost them most of their not insignificant royalties.
