Thanks for all the birthday greetings guys, love the card Catho, that gave me a giggle  grin_gif

It's been a rather quiet steady day here watching the rain lashing against the windows and now the gales have started...deep joy ! frown

Once my lad is back home next month from his 3 month tour of the USA we'll all go out for a belated birthday treat then. smile

Cheers, Marc.

Well there is this,  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonoscopy

It is not as bad as it seems, don't let anyone put you off if it's required, a potential life saver.

As for birthdays, I had one earlier this year with a 0 in it, daughter is insisting we go out and celebrate. When she asked what I wanted for my birthday I told her a good number more of them.cheers

Absolutely right! I just did my third one (they come up every five years or so) My first was horrible, so for the second and future ones I opt for Diprivan (Propofol a general anesthetic and memory eraser) because I'm a wimp...!

Getting old just isn't easy!

It's a funny thing getting older, I find I am happier and more content with life as each year passes. I certainly think I have mellowed and would not want to be in my 20's or 30's again.

That's odd. I have got a lot angrier in my 50s.

Oh yes, I agree. Wisdom and experience far out weigh "youth".

Oh dear, that is not good.

I find a good long walk with the dogs of benefit when stressed or angry. It slowly eases the tensions.

What is, after all, Youth?

I feel that the years that I spent as a "Youth" really helped me to sort myself out as a person - eventually found the right wife and got to know the kids better. Mind you, my definition of "Youth" is the period that I needed to grow up! I now consider myself grown up and capable of making decisions which will affect the rest of my life, not just next week!

This is just about enough of this utter crap and enough to close the rest of my thought chain. Who knows - maybe I have just killed a brilliant monologue on the meaning of life and - Bu**er, someone's done that already, haven't they?

It is the start of the learning curve of life.

Unfortunately, sometimes the more I learn, the less I seem to know.

The info goes in ok, it's a gamble these days if it stays in. Everyday things I am ok with, it's just the new technical stuff that doesn't seem to stick. Still if I remember the everyday things that's a lot better than some poor folk.
