A momentary lapse of reason...
... has led to me buying something off eBay that perhaps I should not have. But hey, whatever!
Now, I do have a love of automatic record changers, and there is one in particular that caught my eye some years ago. That record changer is the Thorens TD 224. Only one record is ever on the platter at a time; the rest are picked from a stack in a manner similar to the HMV acoustic automatics, but rather than throw them down a chute after playing, this places them on another stack.
Well, yesterday I got my chance and I bought one. It's not in perfect condition, but it'll be worth returning it to functionality. It also plays 78s too!
Here's a YouTube link of one operating. Those of you familiar with the Collaro Conquest will notice the methods of disc size detection and end-of-stack detection are identical.

No, complicated in the Garrard stable is the Lab 80 - a waaay complicated hi-fi changer! (Got one of those, just needs the motor rewiring now)
