Bush Cream
Not sure whether this should be in the 'radio' or 'television' section.
There happen to be two cream DAC90A's going through the workshop at present and by pure chance I also currently have a cream "TV22" (a.k.a Retrovisor) back through the system for later re-sale.
I thought they made a nice picture.
Steve
Hi Steve, very nice picture. What chassis is fitted to the Bush?
Was that Harvard before Argos took over? I saw a "bush" washing machine in Argos.
Yes, the only Bushes in the photo I presume have DAC90A Chassis. I presume the earlier DAC90 or a chopped up DAC10 doesn't fit.
Aren't all the Retrovisors actually Fibre glass + (polyester?) resin rather than the modern equivalent of Bakelite?

Yes they are. BTW what is the modern equivalent of bakelite called and what are its present day applications?
Steve
Urea based instead of Phenol (Bakelite ingredient). Otherwise very similar, it's Thermosetting like Bakelite and Mechanical & Electrically very similar. Till recently I assumed it was Bakelite (as Catalin* variation of Bakelite was often pale rather than dark painted).

Switches, lamp sockets, wall sockets and plugs.
Surface mount boxes.
Largest Item I have is a surface mount box I use for Shaver Transformer on extension cable. It is also intended for surface mount of Cooker Switch.
Bakelite type materials are still made, so I don't know why or when Electrical Fittings changed from Phenol based (Bakelite) to current type.
