Hi Everybody,
have been away from the radio repairs due to work and other stuff but am going to take a stab at an RGD Radio I found in a shed, chassis is a bit rusty and some worm but all treatable stuff.
What I am stuck on is a model number, can;t seem to find much on the web and the back cards not yielding any clues

Tis in an interesting one with two chassis and a sort of roll cover over the dial and controls.
All help greatly received

Many Thanks
Luke

Hi Luke,

It's an R.G.D. Console Radio Model 1135 From 1938

Nice set Luke, be interesting to see how it fairs once you get it on the bench. I've checked for service data but I'm afraid nothing yet. Might be worth contacting the chaps at the RGD museum, if anyone will have the data they will.

You beat me too it Chris, I was just checking the Technical Library just in case
I will fire off an email later and see what comes back as you say most likely the best source for the manual/schematic

Regards
Luke

Remember and a note to others if you don't first see what you need in the Technical Library drop me a pm or make a request in the service data section.

This is because not all the data is in the library as I only upload on request, this save my sanity otherwise I would be scanning forever, you know Luke you saw just some of the data last time when you dropped it off 8))

In this case I checked, but knew it would be a long shot, I do have quite a lot of 30's data but RGD always seem thin on the ground, I wonder why that is? Might be like Murphy they only released to authorised dealers.

Anyway good luck and keep us informed.

I've got the 930 (version without the push-button tuning) on my round tuit pile. So I'd also be interested to find out where service info is available from if you have success. Push/pull triode output and big speaker, should make a nice sounding set!

Nice set, eleven valves and motor tuning, The manufacturers data shows aligning the IF by 'cathode ray oscillograph' which must have been a rarity to have in a service manual in those days.

I note in 1938 Trader sheets they complain about Ekco not releasing the circuit diagram.

What a fantastic find, Luke.

It's a minor tragedy that it's been left in a shed for decades, but at least someone thought it worth saving.

Do you know anything about its history? I wonder when it was retired. Was the shed in the garden of a fairly upmarket house?
