Rich aka Marconi_MPT4, has kindly scanned his Hitachi VHS recorder training course notes. This course was run by Hitachi UK c.1982 and covers VT6500, VT-TU65, VT7000, VT8000, VT8300, VT8700, VT9000, VT9500, VT9700, and VT11.

Thanks Chris it should prove useful as Hitachi service manuals, although comprehensive in various procedures, lack coverage in basics. It was a mammoth task to scan and correct images as many diagrams were skew-wiff and not consistent across the page. Best results obtained by using the scanner driver directly with correct pixel resolution saved as a bitmap.

VT8500E is very similar to VT8000E series with extra facilities of 1/2 speed and double play, infra-red remote control, a 12 button tuner and 7 day five programme timer plus battery backup and programme index. Differences are mentioned in the text where appropriate.
