Have you got a tale or two?

This post is to remind members that there is a marvellous section on the main site dedicated to tales from the trade. You will find dozens of articles that have been submitted by members and non members.

Worth making a brew and enjoy the recollections of many ex service engineers. Trade Tales brings all their stories of daring do, last minute fixes on Christmas Eve, awkward customers, fruity customers or just plain moments of inspiration. Come in and read their articles, be there as if looking over their shoulders and re-live the the golden age of the TV/Radio repair engineer.

If you are ex TV trade we are always looking for more stories, so come on guys put it down on record so all can enjoy.

Click here for Trade Tales on the Main Site

If you have any stories to tell there are a number of ways you can do this.

  • Anyone can submit via the contact page, member or non member ( subject to editorial approval)
  • Become a registered member and post the tale yourself in the trade tale section ( subject to editorial approval)
  • Become a registered member and post the tale here if its 'gooun', well feature it in the Trade Tale section.

There must be hundreds of tales to tell, even if you might consider then boring they won't be. Even if its just details of rep visits, stock ordering, Workshop practices, planning service call etc etc, It all helps to paint the picture of the days when Television and Television serving was at its best.

Finally

Even if you don't feel you have a tale to tell this section of the E-CTV forum is set aside for the ex trade. You can discuss your days in the trade, rental firms you worked for or independents, perhaps you had your own shop. Seek out ex colleagues find out what they all got up to or when the trade ended, its entirely up to you.

Members who were not in the trade do not need to feel they are excluded, why not ask those that were what it was like, how long it took them to get to grips with a new chassis'. What was their favourite one or their least favourite, the list is endless.
