VCR Bring my old VR2020 back to life
Hi all,
Not sure if I am posting in the right place however, I am trying to bring my old 2020 back to life, I have sorted a power board issue which seems that at some point someone had tried to jimmy it out and crack it, so have repaired the crack and tracks also found a couple of dry joints also on the board so re soldered them. At this point the machine powered up and lit up at the front. At this point I found there was no response from the front panel and then the system went a bit wild, on Checking the control board that battery has leaked and done some damage, I think it could be repaired with a bit of fancy wiring across where the damage is but I could do with some sort of picture of the track layout. Can anyone help or does anyone have a control board laying around that they not mind selling.
Hope someone can help and sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hi and welcome to the forum, no problem we can move it.
Just a friendly piece of advice, it is considered good forum etiquette to start your own "New" thread, rather than post your request in someone else's thread. That is considered thread hi-jacking. Not only that but it makes it much easier for our members to help and keep track of what and who they are helping if the threads are just covering one repair at a time. As I said above, no problem though, I've spilt your post off into this thread for you.

Another member here had exactly the same problem, it corroded his board as well. This set me panicking as my VR2022 had not been turned on in years. Luckily mine was OK, the battery although original had not leaked, I just ordered a new one and replaced it. Here are pics of mine and the circuit board plan-view from the manual, hope that helps and good luck with your repair. 👍

Hi,
Thank you for these diagrams they should help a lot will update this post as I get further.
Thanks again
Hi all,
OK so I have got my machine up and running, powers up takes a tape plays fast forward etc, however I cannot get my TV to tune into it, maybe my TV is too new not sure? However I do have a connection on the rear of the machine with av printed underneath
Does anyone know what connector I need to get and where, I presume it would allow me to connect it to either the rca input on my TV or scart? But I dont know what to get.
Any help would be much appreciated oh and I got the model wrong in my first post the machine is a Philips video 2000 Vr2023.
Thank you in advance.
