  1. A Ferguson 3722 was the first TV we owned out-right. We got it in 1984 so it wasn’t new then.

    I recall one evening I heard a nasty crackling noise and shot across the room and yanked the plug out.

    Needless to say I was asked what the hell I was doing but when I pointed to the smoke now coming out of the television all was revealed.

    We got it fixed OK as these were still the days when the repair trade was in existence.
