I have a lovely Philips G19T211a dual standard mono set from the late 1960,s which does not have any legs.

On this model the legs don’t screw into the bottom but form the corners of the cabinet and go right to the top of the cabinet so as you can imagine the set doesn’t look right with out them.

I`m not very hopeful about finding a set of legs but am hoping a collector on here has the same television and wouldn’t mind sending me some measurements so I can have a go at making some .

I cannot help with the legs but would appreciate you posting a photo of your set, if that’s possible.

This seems to be a common theme with sets loosing their legs or stand. Unlike other sets that have legs that screw in beneath, as you say Philips decided to have what I think is a really naff idea, having the leg form part of the corner of the cabinet.

When I got my Philips G6 three years ago it was also missing its legs, I did however have a set from a smaller Philips cabinet, and this next bit will make you weep, I set about adapting them for my G6. In my defence I reasoned I was highly unlikely to ever find a set of 502 cabinet legs and this was my only chance at getting the cabinet back to looking like it should. The set will be a little lower than original but that’s better than no legs at all.

You do what you think is best at the time, nothing else you can do or nothing gets done.

The G6 looks fine.

We didn’t sell Philips or Stella’s sets so I only ever saw a few, hence the request for a photo, may bring back some long distant memory but of no use for Robin.

Hi guys.

I don’t blame you for adapting the legs you had to fit your set chris , I`d have done the same.

I`m the 3rd person to own this set in recent times and we`ve all tried to get legs for it and so far failed.

Yes that’s my set chris , the middle picture.

I`ll try to get a picture nuvistor but the set is in storage and I need batteries for the digi camera so bear with me.

Hi Robin,

It’s the same set as Chris has so don’t worry about the photo, just hope you can sort the legs out.
