About Me
worked in the trade since 1985 (ish). I took City & Guilds 224 Pts. I and II. Distinctions in all sections. Part II only covered B&W TV but I picked up colour. I couldn't afford to do parts III (colour?) or IIII (teletext?) as I needed to get a job. I never really missed them, I managed to work out most things be it Video recorders, Camcorders, Microwaves and so on so never felt the need to do any more qualifications. I do wish I had studied to a much higher level however and would recommend that people study to the highest level that they can. I felt my lack of formal qualifications (particularly at degree level) prevented me from going further, when pitted against less able people who had that 'magic' degree. I spent five years in a Technical College designing and repairing demonstration equipment for students, then the politics got too much. Now repairing and designing for a small local company and enjoying not having to spend 3 hours a day (or more) commuting across Lincolnshire's poorly maintained road network.
