The very first job

The very first day I started in Huddersfield was a cold winters morning, the job was local in Golcar and there was snow around. I got to the house and it was a Georgian glass paned door, I gave it a knock and shortly after heard a rustling noise above so I stepped back expecting to see the customer at an upstairs window, just as…a whole roof full of snow thudded to the ground with inches to spare!
I kicked my way through the pile of snow and knocked a bit harder. The pane promptly said “Ckkk!” as a crack went across it.. I had to apologise to the customer when they did appear. Not a bad first job, covered their path with snow and broke a window to boot.
