RE: EVR Electronic Video Recording

@sundog Rank Bush Murphy did some work on the system in the UK and produced a very small number of machines, around twenty I'm led to believe. A collector has one and it can be seen in this thread.

RE: 1974 20" Ferguson 3C03; Thorn 4000 ; Super Rare

Hi Baz, forgot about the TX100. The plug was certainly used on other chassis such as the 9600 and 9800 but plugged into a filter unit.

RE: 1974 20" Ferguson 3C03; Thorn 4000 ; Super Rare

There's no doubt from the underside it's Thorn but never seen those print markings on the component side. Thanks for the dimensions, I've got a rough and ready print layout done and resized it. I migh...

RE: Panasonic UK: Training Video; G Deck VCR Strip Down & Alignment

Takes me back a bit, must be nearly 30 years since I tackled a G deck but it all came flooding back. Pack of cocktail sticks or cotton buds with the heads cut off useful for keeping some gears in plac...

Lots of tants too. Might be worth powering up the signal stages with an external 30v supply to be sure all is well here.

RE: 1974 20" Ferguson 3C03; Thorn 4000 ; Super Rare

All looking very good and no signs of corrosion which is rare for your usual acquisitions, the dust is a comforting sign. That focus control is similar if not identical to the one used in the 9000/990...

My T-Vette was not particularly stable on 625 either but 405 was rock solid, also had a bit of a soot and whitewash look about. Changing a couple of sub 1uf electrolytics in the AGC/video stage I thi...

RE: 1974 HMV 2726 Coloumaster; Thorn 4000

So pleased to hear you’ve managed to find one. It was a shock to hear about JCdaze having the 3C05 but for a 2726 to turn up so quickly after that is a stunning surprise. Well done and I wish you wel...

RE: Ferguson Videostar 3V31

@cathovisor there certainly was. I'm led to believe it was a VR3943, I've also seen them badged as SABA (model unknown) and Telefunken VR530.

RE: Ferguson Videostar 3V31

The 3V31 is equivalent to the JVC HR-7650 but I’ve been unable to find a manual for it. The mechanics apart from the drum are identical to the 3V32 and the HR-7655 but the electrical difference in the...

RE: THOMSON Television & Video; Brochure

I need a picture to remind me of the 41P3 but the 68K4 did seem more "continental". The biggest drawback with it was due to the extra weight of the Super Planar CRT they didn't travel well and many ca...

RE: New addition, Baird M708

Hi Gary, sync take off is from the resistor that feeds the red cathode of the CRT so luminance needs to be present all the way up to this point to get any syncs.
