RE: Lost (and found) Morecambe and Wise episode - film or VT?

Whether in colour or not, I will very much like to watch it. It has all the right colours.... but not neccessarily in the right order ! 😋

Seeing close-up's of some of the components, it has a continental look to it... ERO capacitors for one thing and the good quality resistors.

RE: Rank Bush Murphy; 1968 CTV25 Production

What is bugging me is that I can't be certain what chassis the boards Frank mentioned are for. One too many valves for a TV141 IF panel, and far too many for a later TV161 A640 chassis. Unless they ar...

A nice snippet of film. No safetly goggles when fitting the CRT and I feel for the poor sod near the end of the film tasked with getting it working long enough to leave the factory. 😋

RE: What to do with a Philips T-vette...

It might be worth posing the "625" question over on UKVRR too, so as to gain an even wider opinion of the set. If they generally really are a bit tricky on 625, it could save you lot's of time.

It looks very nice and very modern for it's time. A plastic polish may help reduce the marks on top, but all in good time.

Posted by: @lloyd Maybe some of these really were mediocre at best on 625? Hard to say, but at the time (1966?) 625 was not common-place so most would have been used on 405. This system is ideal for...

RE: Pam TV

You may remember that this set exhibited a minor fault with the frame scan where the top few lines of picture information were visible lower down the raster, similar to fly-back lines. Using a differe...

Posted by: @pye625 At first glance it looks like a set from 1984, not 1974.... Just to clarify, I was referring to the Ferguson 3C03 (4000 Chassis) set.

I must confess to thinking that the new 6k8 was a bit large physically, but if you can get it to fit ok, then all well and good in the end. 👍 Quite a bit of heat is generated in the tuner (ma...

RE: Thorn 9904; 9000 Series Chassis

At first glance it looks like a set from 1984, not 1974. Rather more in the "monitor" style that caught on in the '80s, so ahead of it's time perhaps. Not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly rare and...
