When switched on, the picture does not appear.
Sometimes the screen remains blank and some- times there are lines running across it. I normally
have to wait about 25 minutes before I get a worthwhile picture. I have changed two ECL82’s
and a PCC89, but this has made no difference. -J. O’Reilly (Glasgow, Scotland).
Your description of the fault is not too clear,
however we presume that when the set is first
switched on, there is no picture signal but the
sound is normal. We presume the picture then
gradually fades in after some 25 minutes. In this case you should -check the video amplifier stage,
first changing the PCF80 valve (V205) upper left
side.
