Pye Q8, Ekco PT378 & Ferranti PT1104

The Pye Q8, Ekco PT378 and Ferranti PT1104 transistor radio variants have the speaker magnet securing screw head protruding through a hole in the PCB. This screw does not secure the PCB, if it is undone it will damage the speaker. This was a common fault to come into the workshop if the owner had decided to check the radio themselves.

It may be possible to adjust the magnet again to repair the speaker but it is difficult. I could never spend time when repairing these radios, quicker and cheaper to replace, unfortunately not possible now.
